Geographic extent: The study area covers the Fitzroy River outlet, Keppel Bay, and the surrounding seabed, and covers an area of 100 by 160km. The site is located on Queensland's eastern coastline, approximately 450km north of Brisbane, and includes the population centres of Rockhampton and Gladstone.
Contents: This model comprises digitised single beam acoustic bathymetric data sourced from the Australian Hydrographic Office, land surface generated from Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) data, LANDSAT(TM) imagery from the Landsat 7 satellite, and a range of sample surveys including Vibracore, Pushcore, Geoprobe Core, Auger Samples and Grab Samples. This is the second version of this model, released June 2006, with updates including additional bathymetry, additional satellite imagery, and the addition of Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Zone data.
Data Source: This data has been acquired for the Coastal CRC Fitzroy Agricultural Contaminants (AC) Project, between 2003 and 2005.
